Ordering pizza reminded reader of aunt's life

Ordering pizza reminded reader of aunt's life

Ordinarily, it didn’t take long in trying new things, but when there was a coupon for 50% off any pizza at menu price, it was difficult turning it down with me trying a  nine-piece Spinach and Feta Artisan Pizza from Domino's Pizza. With the Pasta Primavera bowl,  Mediterranean Veggie sandwich and 20-ounce bottle of Coke, there was enough food to last through Sunday. Not having to cook bird meat so close to Easter was a blessing.
Since ham was not a favorite, roasting a turkey this Easter was planned. Mom usually made a plate for me but she, my brother and sister were to be in Palm Coast, Florida at my aunt’s memorial. This order was done to cheer me up and it celebrated her life. My aunt was a fighter, having gone through  two leg vein transplants, heart surgery, two broken ankles, a broken toe, and type 2 diabetes. She hit her head on the tile of her Florida condo, needing two cranial surgeries which were supposed to have eased the pressure on her brain. She died in Hospice March 20, 2013.
