April provided a wide range of activities

The  month of April offered a wide range of activities. Even though April was National Child Abuse Awareness month most activities in the first week, centered around Cowboy True activities on Friday and Saturday, a garage sale given by Wesley United Methodist Church, or Zavala's 8th Annual Leadership Banquet, there were plenty of  activities in April for all.
  • Mon., Apr. 1-Tue.,Apr. 30 National Child Abuse Awareness Month Patsy's House Children's Advocacy Center was working to end child abuse in Wichita County. Everyone was encouraged to help by making a $20 donation. The event started at 3 p.m. this afternoon. By having done this, either at Patsy’s House, located on 10th Street, or Patterson’s Honda, located on 319 Central Freeway. one of the 1,491 pinwheels at the Patterson Honda dealership were removed. The goal was to wipe out child abuse by the end of April. For more information, call (940) 322-8890.
  • Fri., Apr. 5 Cowboy True Artist Reception and Exhibit Cowboy True, presented by Bryant Edwards Foundation, Cowboy True was a celebration to honor working cowboys and the artwork that came from their daily lives. A weekend of music, food, and cowboy art featuring all media including paintings, sculptures, photography, and the gear and trappings of the cowboy life. The event was held at the Bridwell Ag Center : Artist Reception and Exhibit 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Free admission. Hearty appetizers and cash bar. Call (940) 766-3347 for more information.
